Electroless nickel plating (or EN plating) is a chemical process that deposits an even layer of nickel-phosphorus or nickel-boron alloy on the surface of a solid substrate, like metal or plastic. The process involves dipping the substrate in a water solution containing nickel salt and a suitable reducing agent.

What is the difference between nickel plating and electroless nickel plating?

Compared with the traditional electrolytic nickel electroplating process index, the electroless nickel plating process (EN) has several obvious advantages. Specifically, EN uses chemical reducing agents in solution chemistry, which results in almost uniform deposition on all surfaces wetted by EN chemistry. There will be too much coating on the edges or corners (high current areas).
